I got all excited about decorating it when it was first finished. Then, after having the room for about a week, I quickly realized it wasn’t mine. And, it won’t be for a while. And, that’s okay. We are in that season of life where curtains will get pulled down, pillows will be used as weapons, and lamp cords will be chewed—times two.
So, at this point, I’m going to just concentrate on overhead lighting. I’m assuming the ceiling is at least a safe place to start (but, I guess you never really know. . . ). There are two places for overhead lights, and I wasn’t quite ready to commit to anything while the room was being built.
Now that I’ve had a little time to think about it, I keep coming back to a look similar to this:
Since we’re using a pair, I thought clean and simple would work best. And, you know I’ve never been one to invest tons in lighting. I ordered a pair of these last week while they were on sale. I don’t think you can beat a fixture this big for under $130.
They sold out last time when I thought about this too long, and they’ve apparently sold out again. But, you can always sign up to be notified by email when they’re back in stock.
I’m undecided about whether the shades will stay or go, but I definitely feel a can (or two) of gold spray paint in my near future.
