I love Maidenhair ferns as much as the next person. (Well, there might be one person out there who loves them more than most.) They’re beautiful and delicate and add the perfect touch of green to any vignette:
I like to have something fresh on our mantel, so I bought one for this spot:
I brought it home on a Wednesday, and woke up to this three days later:
They gave me instructions on how to care for it when I bought it, and it said to only water a couple of times a week and keep out of direct sunlight. I assumed that the first time I should’ve thought about watering it would be on Saturday. But, it was obviously too late and way too crispy for that.
Do you think it could’ve been that it was in the path of the air vent?
Plants hate me.
I wondered about ordering a faux Maidenhair, but they just look so, ummm. . . faux.
Have you had luck with this fern?
Any tips of tricks for keeping them alive for longer than three days?
