Wall Lamps for Our Living Room

lighting in our living room

After we took down the ceiling fan (which was also the overhead lighting for the room) and didn’t replace it, figuring out where to put lamps in a pretty open space was a little tricky.  We do have a floor outlet under the sofa, which is  nice, but I wanted to add some lamps on the TV wall.  Since there was no room on the white dresser, I opted for two swing arm lamps:

Nearly a year ago, I found a great deal from Home Decorators on these wall lamps:

Pivoting Swing-Arm Pin-up Lamp

I ordered them during one of their lighting sales, and I’m pretty sure I was able to get my trade discount on top of that.  They ended up being less than $25 a piece.  (They’re still available on the site, but when I last checked, they weren’t on sale.)

I ordered them in the “oil rubbed bronze” but decided to give them a makeover with Rustoleum’s metallic spray paint in brass.

When we put them up, the shade was blending into the wall, so I also added black grosgrain ribbon to the shades:

Slowly, but surely, I’m working on building a gallery wall around them:
