Sure, a cute popcorn wreath may seem like a good idea.
Today, I’m over at the Oreck blog sharing the details of the wreath that almost sent me over the edge, and why you should never try to one-up Martha. (Full post here.)
And, if you’re curious about this wreath’s ultimate fate, you’ll have to follow me on Instagram (@emilyaclark). Let’s just say, it didn’t end well.

Emily, that wreath is super cute but looks like A TON OF WORK!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute. Going to read the full post now!

I am sooo sorry. The topiaries I made from ornaments took hours and I put them on the mantel and one came crashing down. I normally keep my cool. . . I so didn't!!! The popcorn wreath did look so darn cute on that door!
ReplyDeletehaha, this is so funny. I have a similar post today about a recycled holiday card tree that I attempted to make. I ended up referring people over to your site to check out your paper tree (which ended up much better!!). I suggest never attempting my card tree unless you have plenty of wine handy.
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me the name of the color paint you used on that door?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Can you tell me the color of paint on that door?
ReplyDeleteI love it.
Thank you. :)
Hi Kari, It's Sherwin Williams Paradise http://emilyaclark.blogspot.com/2012/09/our-yellow-door-goes-green.html
DeleteHaha, things always look so much simpler before you start, right? Hey I just found out we're both curators for Homesessive, which is such a huge honor since I've loved your blog for a long, long time! I also just wanted to let you know that I have a giveaway for $200 to Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm happening this week.. stop by if you're interested!
ReplyDeleteThat is HILARIOUS! I thought I was the only one who has great ideas, only to under-estimate time, money, and space....and over-estimate the patience of my husband and/or kids! :) Yours seem to be good troopers though! ~Kim
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I did the same thing a couple years ago when making a marshmallow wreath. Used the wrong form for the wreath and it took me longer than it needed to. It is beautiful though : )
ReplyDeleteHa ha. That's what you get for being more ambitious than Martha. Did you know she makes her own marshmallows? Didn't anyone tell her she can buy a bag for $1?
ReplyDeleteThis blog title made me laugh. LOL You have some one patient woman indeed :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!
