A Deer on My Doorstep

Just when I thought I was finished decorating for Christmas, a deer landed on my doorstep.

It was actually a surprise from my blogging friend, Rene, who is working with Kirkland’s on a Secret Santa project. (Aren’t Secret Santas the best?) The crazy thing is, I almost paid way too much for a different deer at another store last month but just couldn’t bring myself to spend the money on something that would only set out a few weeks each Christmas. Rene’s elves must’ve been spying on me because I got a deer after all.

I know it’s a boy, but I dressed him up a little anyway with a big ornament necklace, a sprig of greenery, and some twine (you know, to keep it manly.)

If I’m honest, it’s been a while since I’ve shopped at Kirkland’s.  But, since I loved the deer,  I thought I’d give the rest of their Christmas offerings a quick look.  Here’s a little sample of what I found:

(And, right now, all of their Christmas is up to 50% off.)

Thanks to Rene & Kirkland’s for my Christmas surprise!  Have you added anything new to your holiday decorating this year?

  2. Busted! Yes, I've been spying on you...stalking to be exact. Your deer is very pretty, ahem, handsome! The twine definitely keeps him from being too prissy. And honestly, I think his outfit is much better than a boxwood wreath.

    Merry Christmas my friend!

  3. Rene is so sweet! I love the new holiday addition to your foyer! The finish on the deer is beautiful. Blogging friends are the best! I actually went a little crazy this year and decided to paint my dining room before company arrives! Call me crazy, but I guess I work better under pressure. Wish me luck- one wall down, three to go! :)
