I know it was only a few months ago that I painted our most used interior door a bright yellow. But, that didn’t stop me from repainting it (because that’s what I do, and I’m a little OCD—you all already know that). I knew I wanted to bring more green into the house, so I chose my paint color by matching up a paint deck to one of my favorite succulents:
And, came up with this:
Sherwin Williams “Paradise”
A little progression of the changes in our hallway:

Sometimes, it just takes a few times to get it right. And, thankfully, a door doesn’t require much time or paint. After looking for a while, I also found a rug for our back hallway:
This rug gets a lot of foot traffic, so I wasn’t willing to spend much. I found this one at IKEA, and the price was right. (In fact, I think I should buy a back up and store it away for later.)
I’m also working on painting frames and printing pictures for a family wall gallery. I’ll show you pictures when I get it right.

Love the green Emily! And, with the black rug, it is perfection! The colors get me excited for fall!! I need to check out that rug too!
ReplyDeleteGreen and black is a favorite of mine. This looks fantastic! Stronger and sassier. Looking forward to seeing the wall. As a twin mom, I don't know how you have the energy! :)

ReplyDeleteThat green is perfect...I am still trying to figure out how you are doing all of these projects with 5 children....perplexed.
ReplyDeleteI love the green! And I'll bet the color on the door hides all the fingerprints - which is an added bonus! I need to paint our back door. It would be easier to paint it than to clean it - ha!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this! I may head to Lowes asap on Saturday morning and steal your inspiration! :)
ReplyDeleteBoy it's great, GREAT. Amazing what a little can of paint can do. I'm also loving the gallery wall.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's much better than that green with a black and white accent. Simple and stunning!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE the green! And with that rug, it looks so good.
ReplyDeleteI want to add more green also. Love the green door! And, that gallery wall over the hooks is looking good...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous color!! When you paint a door like that - do you paint the edges?
ReplyDeleteI love the green door! Between the black rug and green door it reminds me of a Kate Spade combination. It looks great!
ReplyDeletei really love how bold it looks. great choice!
ReplyDeleteOh, I like the green! Huge fan. So pretty with the hooks and frames. I love that you already repainted it. Makes me feel better about my OCD going on over here. ;)

ReplyDeleteLove the color! I have wanted to paint our front door but I couldn't decide between green or turquoise. Now I know! Thanks for posting what the color is!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great although the yellow looked great as well. It's such a nice way to change things up when you get bored.
ReplyDeleteI think you found the PERFECT green! I love it! Such a fun accent color.
ReplyDeleteSarah
What a pretty shade of green!
ReplyDeleteIm loving the green!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about painting my back door since I saw your post about painting you door yellow. I'm sold on the green now.
ReplyDeleteI adore that color green! Looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love your green door! Our front door went from red(from the previous owners) to a custom mix I did at home from two SW colors. It looks so much richer now with the pale green siding of our home. You can see it here.

That color green carries into the living room too so when the door's open during warm weather, it looks great!

ReplyDeleteLove the green door and the brown wall! Can't wait to see the gallery wall!
ReplyDeletewhat color is the brown on the wall next to it?

ReplyDeleteLove the color! Looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Really works well with the chocolate brown. I'm totally like you... always changing my mind...
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect!
ReplyDeleteToocolorcrazy, the upper wall color beside of the door is Urbane Bronze (Sherwin Williams)--the same color I've been using other places around my house. I'm not sure why it's looking so brown in the photos. It's really more of a dark charcoal gray in person.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the green, funny how it can sometimes take a try or two to get paint color right. Looks fantastic and happy at the end of your hall...Janell
ReplyDeleteLove the new green door and the striped rug! Very fresh color combo!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!

I liked the door yellow but I also like it green too. Totally like this look for the hallway.
ReplyDeleteYeah for color! Yellow was good and the green is great.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love a leaf green door. I have one too, though I like your shade better; mine is light green.
ReplyDeleteI think you have a little boy or two ... I bet your cool rug is a neat street for little cars! Love it!!!!
SOOOO love that door!
ReplyDeleteInspired by a Mini lanvin bag first introduced long ago, which was itself inspired by one of the most iconic styles in Coach history, this charming, hand-assembled little bag is updated with rounded corners while retaining the original’s dowel detail, turnlock and trigger snaps. Tiny as it is,lanvin bag includes pockets inside for all your essentials. http://www.lanvinbagonline.com/
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I love the green! I think I definitely need to paint one of my doors like this with a pop of color! Hope you had a great weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteLove the green, Emily!
ReplyDeleteIm really loving the green color door! I'm not a big fan of green but this really works and i love it! Everything is looking really fantastic emily! Can't wait to see more :)
ReplyDeleteThe green looks great. You did an excellent job on the door. I would love to have a custom door like that. I'm to lazy to paint, so I'll probably try to find custom doors in miami.
ReplyDeleteSo fabulous!!! I went to Lowes today to get the same paint to paint the back of my front door but the "Paradise" looks like a total lighter sage green, and not more darker, leafy like this looks in the picture - do you know, is yours Valspar C127, Paradise? It looks completely different! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBrooks--I am a big dummy! I just double checked and it's Sherwin Williams. I had it mixed at Lowes in a Valspar paint and totally forgot that when I went to look at the paint can for the blog post. So sorry! I'll change on the blog tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteNo problem! So glad to solve the mystery!!! Thanks again for sharing! Brooks
ReplyDeleteMuch, much better! You have made a good decision in painting your door green. Now, your door has become more emphasized, attractive and definitely more pleasing to the eye. Green is the most relaxing color, and I think it will definitely lighten up the mood of everyone in the house.
