1. I’ll start with the obvious—the changing colors of nature. Is there a more beautiful palette?
2. Pumpkin lattes from Dunkin Donuts.
3. Football. Not the actual sport, but the sound of it on TV. It’s the perfect background noise for a Sunday afternoon nap.
4. Mums. It’s a sure sign that Fall is upon us when stores start putting them out.
5. Boots.
6. Vegetable soup (I never feel like it’s right to make it before September.)
7. Pinecones, acorns and branches. There are so many free accessories for your home this time of year.

8. Scarves.
9. Turtlenecks. (Do you see a theme here? My husband swears I go put on a scarf or turtleneck the minute temperatures fall below 80 degrees. I tell him there’s something to be said for modesty.)
10. Halloween. Even if I don’t get the candy, I still feel the thrill of trick or treating with my kids.
11. The smell of burning leaves.
12. Pumpkins.
13. My birthday and our anniversary. They fall within the same week in November.
14. A new fall bag. I bought this one.

15. Crisp, cool nights.
Happy First Day of Fall!

Yes!! I think I love spring and summer when they finally arrive after winter...but I LOVE fall..cripy air, rich food, cider by the fire, sweaters...
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I think mine would be very similar. I would add a nice pair of cords in a great color to go with the turtleneck and scarf. Love the bag, who makes it? Also love the spiced pumpkin lattes from Starbucks, but will try the Dunkin Donut latte now.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, YES! My husband wont let me make soup until Oct 1st, but this Monday is supposed to be pretty stormy so maybe I can get away with it a little early . . .
ReplyDeleteah!! so true. i love all of those things too. my favorite thing to do in the fall is to take a long drive in the mountains. when we lived in tennessee, we would drive in the smokey mountains, and stop for lunch along the way, then grab some honey and jam and mums from our favorite mom + pop stand in the middle of nowhere. bliss.
ReplyDeleteI have several of the same items on my fave fall list! I too love the sound of football and even watch if the 49ers are playing!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of your answers Emily! When is your birthday? Mine is the 3rd and we get an extra hour of sleep this year! I adore your blog.

It's my favorite time of year! We share so many of the same favorites. :) Great list. By far, my favorites are the leaves changing color, the mums and the crisp air!
ReplyDeletePerfect Line Up Fall Faves. I have one more to add! Slippers! When I trade in my flip flops for them I know it's fall:)
ReplyDeleteI've been resisting fall because I love summer so and my kids start school at the beginning of August every year (horrors!). But I'm feeling it this weekend... thanks for the nudge. :)

Oh yes----I couldn't agree more. Fall is by far my favorite season. :)
ReplyDeleteI would have written the very same list except for number 13. Great minds still think alike!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are no where near feeling fall where I live in Southern California sadly...I'm desperately waiting to pull out my boots! Can't wait to see a tree like the one you have pictured...aaahhh. Love fall!
ReplyDeleteI love all these things...we'd be skipping hand-in-hand with our lattes, scarves and turtlenecks after the kids while they trick or treat. I'm not as fond of Nov this year since I'm turning 40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And LOVE your lantern...the mix with the chandy in your breakfast room is amazing. You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteLove your list! Pumpkin pies, beautiful fall color leaves....fall is definitely my favorite season!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I almost think that fall is my favorite time of the year! nice brisk air! hot lattes, outdoor sports with the kids, fires in the fire pit, carving pumpkins, the start of all the cool holidays, decorating the house for all of the holidays! ah, the list could grow to a "100" favorite things!
ReplyDeleteThis post has been somewhat of a revelation to me.
