Some Days, I Feel Exactly the Same Way. . .

Thought you might enjoy hearing a little of the soundtrack of my life. . .

  1. My sister-in-law had a son and 10 months later she had twin boys. Three babies in less than a year's time. The crying twins remind me of what her life was like. She got through it, even with another baby girl 1.5 years after the twins were born. Of course now she says she doesn't know how she did it, but she did.
Your twins are adorable and they've grown already!

  2. Oh my goodness, I saw those babies in my reader and came right over. There is something so unique about a new baby cry....but two, I want to hug both of them. Is it me, or are they in sync with each other?

  3. Oh bless! I love that sound! I know it's not as ace at 2am. But my twins are now nearly 3 and their cries are nowhere near as cute and helpless. I miss those days :) Well done on such adorable babies x

  4. Believe it or not I wish I could turn back the clock and be there all over again when they were that little. Your boys are precious...they just grow up too quickly!

  8. Oh boy. Totally pulls on my heartstrings, but for you too. It does make me miss my tiny babes, but I also remember almost crying along with #2 after a good week of him being awake for 5-6 hours at a clip. So glad you can roll with it and have a sense of humor about it! I'm sure it's a blur these days. Enjoy the weekend.

  9. They are adorable. But unlike your other posters, I do not miss the newborn period--probably because I never slept!

  10. Awww...there is just something about a newborn's cry. Now the temper tantrums at two are a whole other ballgame! LOL
I saw there nursery over at Courtney's...Emily is is just beautiful. The perfect soothing palette for them to share. It is elegant, yet simple. Love it!!

  13. I'm laughing over here in my baby-less house, but mostly because now, as a mom of 5, you are videoing their cries and posting it on YouTube instead of freaking out. Gotta love the experience that only comes with time. This too shall pass, right? In the meantime - try to enjoy! :-)

  14. Awww, two little crying babies at once! It cracks me up when babies just cry and kick their adorable little fat legs. I cannot wait to hear my little man cry... 10 more weeks!

Hope you are doing well, Emily! I haven't had a chance to stop by and say congratulations about the twins or BH&G, but a big hug from me for both! So many blessings : )

  16. Wow I remember that sound! Funny how we panic when we hear it the first time around but after a few it becomes like you said more of momentary soundtrack. Chin up friend, they are a beautiful "noise" if you ask me!

  17. Oh, they sound so sweet! Nothing like a baby cry - it sounds so much less "whiney" than the toddler cry. I remember always freaking out when my first one cried, but when the twins came - they just had to wait until I had a minute. Too bad :) My husband and I can tolerate any noise at this point...

    Get some sleep!

  21. Oh, Emily, how precious. I hope you are giving yourself lots of slack and trying to enjoy.

(btw, the other day I watched a woman cart two little twins--about 7mo--into the library and lay them next to each other to play on the floor. A few minutes later I heard them laughing like crazy and looked over to see who was having such success with them. It was just them--cracking each other up and laughing like you would not believe. Usually you have to work hard to get babies going, but these guys were totally rolling with laughter. It was so adorable and happy. Think of all the fun your two will have together!)

  24. That. Soundtrack. Is. Music. To. My. Ears.....but maybe when you hear it in first person it isn't so precious.... years later it is PURE JOY. (And after about 7 yrs of sleeping thru the night!)

  25. My 4 y/o just said "they are very loud" :) It does sound precious (now) but I can not imagine handling 2 newborns at the same time! It is neat that they have different cries.

  26. Such precious little sounds from your sweet babes. When they become teens/adults it will bring tears to your eyes when you listen to this! Thank you for sharing with all of us.

  27. Oh my that just made me smile... A lot! It brings back fond memories. I can say that now because my identical twin girls are now 12 years old. Some days you still feel exactly like this hehe! I'm sure by number 5 though the crying doesn't stress you out too much! Lucky I was a calm person and just pushed through it. Bless xxx

  28. How sweet. Gosh... I remember that little cry, only I didn't get quite the same "surround sound" effect that you've got going on there. ;). They are precious!!

  30. My husband is giving me strange looks from across the couch. I don't think he understands what is so great about a couple of crying babies. :) I love those little kicking legs. And the boy & girl onesies. And that unique newborn sound. So glad you shared! :)
