I can hardly believe I hit the 34 week mark yesterday. Although not much longer, I think these babies are sucking the life out of me. And, the belly is stretched to capacity:
If all goes according to the doctor’s plan, I’ll have the babies at the end of the month. If all goes according to me, they’ll hopefully decide to make their appearance a week or so earlier. At last check, they were both growing like champs, around 4 1/2 pounds each.
I’ve been busy getting things ready around here, and some of my sweet friends took me out for dinner this week, giving me lots of diapers and wipes to add to our stockpile.

I’ll warn you now that you might see things slow down on the blog a little. I’m trying my best to keep up until they’re born, and then plan to take a little time off (with the exception of a few baby pictures) after they arrive. I’ve received lots of offers for guest posts while I’m on “maternity leave”, and as much as I appreciate it, I honestly think it would just be one more thing for me to keep up with. And, I somehow think you all will survive without me for a couple of weeks. Right? :)
I also apologize for my lack of email response lately. My inbox has become slightly overwhelming, and to be honest, if I have a spare hour, naps are just a lot more appealing than answering email questions these days. Forgive me, and don’t be offended.
Alright, I think that covers it. Hope you all have a great weekend. I’ll be resting in between dragging my large self to and from the soccer field.

Wow, I can't imagine! Hope you get some rest before those babies come. :-)

ReplyDeleteYour doing great, keep up the good work and don't you worry about this blog. You have more important things to do right now. Get good rest you will need it, coming from a mom of twins. By the way, my twins were born on May 25th, they came in at 5lbs and 4.6 lbs, maybe yours will have the same birthdate.
ReplyDeleteWay to hide those babies under the table. I was looking for you at the table of lovely ladies and could not find anyone that looked pregnant with twins:) You look fabulous!!! Hang in there and best of luck with delivery!
ReplyDeleteEmily you are almost there!! Exciting and exhausting. You just take all the time you need to take care of you and those sweet babies, Kathysue

ReplyDeleteCongratualtions again on your babies! They are going to be here before you know it!
ReplyDeleteIm actually quite surprised and very much impressed that you have kept this blog going as long as you have through the pregnancy! With all your little rugrats, 2 more on the way, being a FT mommy... I dont know how you do it! I sure couldnt, I know that!
Good luck in everything this next month will bring you. We look forward to the pictures... and hopefully the eventual return!
Oh, good for you. What a special time. I always think that when those sweet babies are in your tummy, it's the only time they are truly ours! Thinking of you. Get lots of rest and enjoy the anticipation.
ReplyDeleteBeen there!! 35 weeks was when I had enough! My twins were born at 35 weeks and 6 days. They were listening! Ha! Thinking of you from blog land! Prayers for a perfect delivery and healthy babies!
ReplyDeleteYou need to just take it easy while you can! We totally understand. Best wishes for an easy delivery!:) xo
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! I bet you are ready to go and have those babies out and about! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYou look great Emily!! 34 weeks is when my twins came. I so remember that feeling by the end of my skin just feeling like it was going to split. Not fun! You look beautiful though! Just hang in there and remember that you'll feel totally back to normal soon! (or you know, once they are sleeping through the night;)

Wow, you look amazing! Great job growing those babies :) Can't wait to see the photos!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with their arrival! I think it took me 6 months post twins (with a 5 yr old that had just started Kindergarten) to get to a new normal. (Of course we moved 6 weeks before they were born so that didn't help much!) Paper plates at dinner are a good good thing. Lower, lower, lower your expectations on accomplishing much beyond feeding your family and sleeping! Twins teach you how tough you are! All our love!
ReplyDeleteHow is it possible that those little babies are almost here? It seems just like yesterday that you announced you were expecting. And judging from the group picture, you don't look preggos at all! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic but I know exactly how you feel. I had twins myself over 6 1/2 pounds each. You will be fine and it will feel SO good to get them out of you...and you will love the experience of twins...they are so much fun! (well, and lots of work too, but fun!)
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you Emily!!!
Take as much time as you need. :) Hoping things go smoothly and well for you.
ReplyDelete: )
ReplyDeleteEven though the belly is big the rest of you still looks petite. Get lots of rest and take care of you and your family. I'm sure we'll all be here waiting for those baby pics:)
ReplyDeleteMy identical girls are now 15, but looking at your profile, I can still feel how big I was! You look great and you're so lucky to have gotten this far along and I hope you make it to the end (for the babies' sake, not yours :) Twins are a joy for which there are no words. Good luck as you get closer!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, I need a nap just thinking about what you've got going on! It's hard to believe you are even pregnant - that pic totally looks like a beach ball tucked under your shirt! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous, Emily!!! So excited for you and your darling family. Take all the time you need. You deserve it! xo
ReplyDeleteI totally understand, and you certainly deserve any naps that can come your way.

Get some rest. We'll try to survive.
ReplyDeleteAs a mother of twins, now 5YO, I remember how exhausting it was in the beginning when we brought them home. I really hope you take time to care for yourself, your new babies, and your family. The blog will always be there. Trust me. You are doing a beautiful job of growing beautiful, healthy babies. I went 37.5 weeks and so glad my babies were able to come home wit me. Kick you feet up and rest as much as possible. They grow so much better inside. Wishing you all the best :)
