The anniversary issue of House of Fifty launched yesterday, and as usual, Janell did a great job of putting together a beautiful, colorful issue.
(Find all the ways to read the issue here.)
I especially liked the paintings she featured (on the cover and inside) by Lulie Wallace. My favorite is entitled “Flowers for Emily.” Go figure.
I’m also honored to be a contributor for the article, “Mothers Raising Daughters” (page 166).
Since I’m only six years into this journey of raising girls, I’m by no means an expert, but it was fun to think about what I want to teach them in the long run. (At the time I gave Janell the info for the article, I didn’t know we’d be adding another girl to the mix!)
For those of you with daughter experience, feel free to share your wisdom with me. :) (After you read the new House of Fifty, of course.)

Looking forward to reading this issue -- it's sitting in my in box right now. :/ Not enough hours in the day!
ReplyDeleteHave Houd of 50 sitting in my inbox - can't wait to read it all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing HOF today with your readers, and thanks for participating in the article, I loved what you had to share. AND, that painting of Lulie's, Flowers for Emily, is a fav of mine as well!

Loved the article. Ass mom of two girls, now 18 & 22, I can tell you there is nothing better.
ReplyDeleteEmily that's beautiful. Thanks for sharing! They are two lucky little girls to have a mom like you!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently raising 2 TEENAGE daughters! How that happened, I don't know...they were once these lil sweet dolls that I could dress up! Now I would say its the Good, the Bad, and the sometimes Ugly! Good...you gave birth to your best friend for life! Bad, I'm constantly calling my own mother and apologzing for anything I did as a teen, and the sometimes Ugly, because we now have our monthly cycle at the SAME TIME! (Poor BaileyHusband)
