My Weekend in Pictures

I so enjoyed my time away from the computer this past weekend.  It was a good mental break.  But, here I am—back again.  Here’s what we were  up to while I was away . . .

My husband and I spent “date night” at Babies ‘R Us for almost two hours.  The experience was overwhelming, to say the least.  I think it finally hit us that everything will be multiplied by two this time.  (In other words, $$$!!!)

We spent way too long staring at the double stroller options and finally ended up ordering this frame for the baby carriers:

And, beyond that, we left the store empty-handed and bleary-eyed.

Over the weekend, we went to a beautiful Easter egg hunt in a backyard that looked like something straight out of Southern Living.

And, we finally took the kids to see The Lorax.  Well, let me rephrase that.  Some of our family watched the movie.  Two of us spent most of the time running around the lobby, where we took pictures of each other to pass the time:

My belly at the movies—30 weeks!

I’ve really enjoyed cutting blooms from our yard this year.  We didn’t have any blooms at our old house.  In fact, we didn’t even have trees :(

We didn’t work on the house much, but I did order a few pieces from this collection for our patio (part of my husband’s upcoming 40th birthday gift).  I’ll take pictures  and post more once it arrives.

And, I have to post pictures of the babes on Easter Sunday . . .

And, I tried for a picture with the kids.  Yes, I’m wearing my infamous green shirt again.  There’s not a lot that’s fitting around the belly these days, and I hate buying maternity clothes in the last weeks.

Hope you had a great weekend,

  1. Looks like a great weekend. I'm sure you've already discovered Diapers.com, but my friends with multiples turned me on to it and I fell in love. It made one part of the bleary-eyed early days seem less overwhelming (and I didn't have twins, just Irish twins). You look wonderful. Hang in there!

  2. Oh goodness your belly is adorable!! Have you been to BuyBuyBaby - it's such a different experience from Babies R Us. They are so well informed! I can't imagine all the decisions. I hope you'll show us the nursery soon! I love the vase on your table with the flowers from your yard. It's stunning! Your pic with the kids is adorable as well. Such a beautiful family! I can't wait to see the two new members this summer!

  16. You look great! Much better than I ever looked pregnant. I have a question for you. The pink shoes in the picture of you at the movies, what brand are they and are they comfortable? My family is going to Disneyland soon and I'm trying to find a pair of shoes that will be comfy enough but still cute. I really don't want to wear tennis shoes. I've been eyeing shoes like that I can't make up my mind. Thanks.

  26. The Snap & Go is the only way to go with twins, so great choice! My twins were born when my son just turned 2, so I really needed a "3 seater". Had to get creative on some trips, but when the twins were a little older I ended up with Valco Stroller (LOVE) with an added Toddler Seat.

  29. You're such a beautiful mama! With a beautiful family! I only have 1 bebe & I adore the snap n go. So easy to drop the carseat into it, plus all that cargo space underneath.

I've admired your blog, work, home, & good-natured outlook for a while now & just want to wish you the best of luck in the weeks ahead!

  30. Thanks for all of the sweet comments, everybody! @Melanie--the shoes are Target cheapies. On sale last week for $12. Very comfortable.

  31. Great choice on the double snap-n-go! Best choice by far of all those crazy double strollers they have out there! My twins are now 4.5 so I can tell you that YES it is double everything (including the moolah!). ENJOY! You look great at 30 weeks!

  36. You look great for 30 weeks with twins!!

A friend of mine said having twins helped to actually curb their spending because each time they went to buy something for the kids they had to really think do we really want TWO of this item??? Good food for thought I say!

  37. Your kids are gorgeous, you are gorgeous, your weekend looked gorgeous! Yay for the Snap n Go -- I'm pretty sure you won't regret that decision. At 30 weeks, I bet you'll do great if you can still run after a toddler in the lobby. I'm thinking almost full term with twins for you! Although still always good to take it easy. :)

  38. You look FANTASTIC for 30 weeks--especially with twins! When I look back on the last weeks of pregnancy, I always regret that I tried to hold myself to standards--for how I looked or how much I accomplished. Cut yourself lots and lots of slack. If that means drinking an extra Coke or serving cereal for dinner or letting the kids watch too much TV or taking a bath instead of doing the dishes. Let yourself take it easy.
