My husband came through on my Valentine’s gift, with a little help from my dad. One edged and the other rolled the girls’ bedroom ceiling:
Did I mention that he has now decided to pay someone else to paint our master bedroom ceiling? :)
I went with Olympic’s “Salsa Diane” (how’s that for a sassy paint name?). It’s a mix of coral and red. I painted the walls light gray, using Sherwin William’s “Worldly Gray.”
This room isn’t really on the fast track to get finished, but I do have a general plan that includes DIY twin upholstered headboards in my new favorite Ikat fabric. (You can find it for a great price here.)
I’ll keep you updated along the way. . .

love that fabric, cannot wait to see the end result!

ReplyDeleteI think you are on to something here...I always do the painting at our house and ceilings are the worst, I need to have my husband do it so he will happily pay someone next time.
It looks beautiful!!! There are 9 foot ceilings in my daughter's small bedroom. Do you think a color on the ceiling would still work okay and not make the room seem even smaller? It's 10'x11'. Thanks!

Oops...I'm going to have to agree to disagree! The red ceiling doesn't ring my bells! Sorreee. :( Don't get me wrong, it looks fantastic, but it does kinda lock you into the red and gray theme, and I'm all for white and bright on the ceiling to open up a room. I see heavy colors as being somewhat oppressive, and I'm thinking the red may be one step too far? This is only my little opinion, and judging from all the positive comments above, I could be hopelessly wrong! ;-) It is very WOW, though. Hx
