An Easy Wreath Project & Some Christmas Touches

I’m more of a bit-by-bit holiday decorator rather than knocking out the whole thing in a day or two.  I better hurry it up, though.  Can you believe Christmas is in just 23 days???

This week, I spotted this simple white wreath on Lisa’s blog, and followed her easy step-by-step directions (found here).  I originally thought it would be perfect on the mirror above our mantel but it wasn’t quite big enough, so it went on our bookcases.  The good news is that it only takes two yards of an inexpensive white fabric and a wire coat hanger!  (I did have to search our house for the wire hanger, though. . . )

The only other thing I’ve done so far is to take a walk through our yard and snip greenery for our mantel. . . .

And, I used extra clippings to spruce up a fake wreath on our front door:

This weekend, we put up the tree!

  1. You are so lucky to have a yard with greenery. When my husband finds out what I spent at the local garden store he's going to be soooo upset.
    Your wreaths are adorable!

  3. Love the wreath and your little touches of holiday-- I'm the same way, my CHristmas decor evolves for a couple of weeks. Then I'm loathe to take it down right after Christmas, so it lingers through the New Year. :)

  11. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for all of it. Love the wreath on the bookshelves...I am going to snatch that idea up. A question: are your antlers faux or real? Did you paint them that color?

  12. Love it! So glad you gave it a try. Also love the other decor. Where is that amazing Merry&Bright piece from?

  13. Jules--the antlers are real (was actually thinking of spraying them white). I didn't kill them, btw, just bought at a flea market :)

Carly--the merry & bright is just an oversized ornament I bought at a Christmas shop a couple of years ago and spray painted.
