Now:
And Then . . .
Now:
And Then . . .
What makes me cringe when I look back:
All of the dark colors and lack of pattern in each room. The house was 100% my husband's masculine rustic style.
What I love most about my home now:
I love that we kept most of the pieces that Dru had because I was able to bring in beautiful lighting,
graphic fabrics and pops of color with our budget instead of replacing large pieces.
The biggest influence on my evolving style has been:
Learning to compromise with my husband. Dru and I needed to meet in the middle so we decided to tone down his over the top rustic style while bringing in my love for color, bold graphics and glamorous lighting.

Thanks, Abbe! To see her beautiful portfolio (and her equally beautiful online shop) visit StudioTen25 here.

I can't view the pictures - a pop up window keeps coming up saying to login to a gallery (mac computer gallery).
ReplyDeleteI'm getting the same thing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I had the pleasure of having Starbucks last weekend with Abbe- she is a gem!

This is a fabulous before/after - I think my fave yet! And I'm seeing a lot of myself in these befores...as in, too neutral and too solid. Very good inspiration here. Now if only I could convince my hubs....
ReplyDeleteI have been a huge fan of Abbe's for a while. Love it all! Bravo! Thanks for this awesome series.

Love her style. What a change! I love those pink chairs!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the paper on the back of the shelves. Anyone have a tutorial on how to? I've got a glass front cabinet in my kitchen that is screaming for color. I need a way to put something on the back that isn't permanant.
ReplyDeleteWow!! What a transformation! I love what she has done with it :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Would you mind sharing the paint color in your office?
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful transformation. I can totally relate. We have struggled to marry our tastes a bit too. I was much more mod clean simple lines and my husband very rustic. We are still a bit in the "then" stage but working on moving out of it!
ReplyDeleteThis was my favorite one so far! That wallpaper on the back of the shelves is such a nice, feminine touch in the office! And I love how she says she finds a compromise with her husband...how true!

Loved this post. I was just "pinning" my little heart out. I was inspired by the splash of pink in the chairs. I've been thinking about painting my dining room this color but maybe just host and hostess chairs instead??? Also loved the wall color in the first image for a bedroom. Wish I knew the paint and color code.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the design motivation.
