A Sweet Window Seat

We’ve been visiting my parents this week, I discovered a new florist/shop, Petals & Pots, in my hometown (Mayfield, Kentucky).  Besides flowers, Sara (the shop’s owner) sells home accessories and furniture that she refinishes.  I saw this antique crib that she painted in a bright color and thought it was a great idea for a window seat.

She simply removed one side, painted the frame, covered a crib mattress in a pretty fabric and filled with pillows.  There you have it—another piece to look for at flea markets, antique shops, etc.

I also spotted this cute sign while I was there.  This would be my best advice for starting your own business/blog/etc.:

  11. Cute idea with the crib! I love it when I get to see new ideas. 'Work hard, be nice' is the motto of the KIPP school I worked for before my twins came along. It pretty much covers the gamut as far as rules go. I'd say this motto fits you perfectly!

  18. My goodness - what a difficult choice. I would have to say that, since I am re-doing my bedroom, either Morning Dew, Paisley Fraiche or Moonlit Taj would be perfect for me.
