Now...

And Then. . . .

What makes me cringe when I look back:

Wow, I cringe at pretty much all of it! We had some nice pieces that we got for our wedding or inherited but I over-accessorized way too much. My hand sewn window treatments and pillows crack me up and I just can't believe how cluttered it was! there was just way too much stuff and little knick knacks shoved on every inch of space. But even though I cringe when I see the pictures, I have wonderful memories of our first little apartment and love to be reminded of that time!

What I love most about my home now:

I love that our home in Dubai (we just recently moved) was bright and fresh. I used white furniture against white walls to keep it really clean and used pops of color to bring it alive without going over the top with color (like I did in my first apartment!) It was unique but simple and sophisticated.

The biggest influence on my evolving style has been:

Experience & Exposure.  This was right after I had graduated so I was working in design but didn't have much experience yet. I have been able to work on so many great projects and get exposure to great design all over the world since then so I have grown in so many ways. I've learned that less is more!

Thank you, Caitlin!  Now, we may think you're human, afterall :)  To see more of her incredible work, visit her site here.

  3. These are so, so fun! The huge rack (and actually, I'm not opposed to a cool antler/skull combo in a room) is totally cracking me up! That was one big deer!

  22. Wow!! Caitlin has come a long way baby!!! as the saying goes. I do love her abandon with her use of colors in the before, but I agree less is more and now her style is so much more sophisticated and I think timeless. Great post and series, so fun to read, Kathysue
