Moving On. . . We Have a New House!

Yes, I know I'm full of all kinds of news lately.  This is more personal than last week's Better Homes & Gardens news, but I still wanted to share with you.  While I've been busy blogging and working away, the last few months have been pretty eventful for our family behind the scenes.  I may share the long version eventually, but for now, I won't bore you with the details.

So, yes, we have moved!  We found a house that we fell in love with, in the perfect spot, a couple of months ago.  We took a huge leap of faith and decided to buy it.  My husband and I both felt strongly that this was where God wanted us, so we did it. . .

I've always believed in the power of prayer, but I can't say that I've ever seen God answer my prayers more specifically than He did in this situation.  Again, to write all of the details might require several posts, but here's the short story:  Within a seven-day period, we received an offer on our house (as we were moving some furniture out), and received a signed contract on the same day of the BH&G photo shoot.  (Better Homes originally said they wanted to shoot "before the end of summer" but once they were aware of our situation, the wonderful Lisa Mowry helped to move things quickly along.)  His timing is, indeed, perfect.

Many of you have asked if I kept any of the changes from the photo shoot in place.  So, my answer is no :)  It's all coming with us to the new house.  I can't wait to tell you more about our new home.  I have 1000 thoughts/ideas for things I want to do going through my mind, and I'll give you a full house tour soon.

In the meantime, I promise no more big announcements (at least as far as I know. . .) on the blog for a while :)

  13. Emily,

Your post made me feel your faith in God. I truly understand how important it is to put our lives on His hands and I know the feeling when He tell us to do something. It's so good to feel that He's taking care of things for us. That's a blessing...

I want to wish you and your family a life filled of blessings in this house. That you can raise your children in the best way possible and you guys can always feel happy and be heathy.

    I'm truly happy for you.

  31. Emily, we are doing the same thing right now. The market right now in the Charlotte suburbs (we are actually Union Co.) is just so good - we got a fantastic "custom" home for a GREAT price and our house went under contract in 48 hours. We did the same & bought before we sold ... we close this week on the new one & in a couple of weeks on our current. CRAZY but fun too! Can't wait to hear more details. My mind is spinning right now with paint choices and other ideas. Congrats & good luck!

Isn't it grand when you know without a doubt that you're following God's path? Our move from Tennessee was kind of like that...no other way to explain the ease, other than God. And now that we're here and dealing with so much, we realize why He brought us back.

Can't wait to see what blessings He has in store for you! And what you do to a new house!!!!!
