Back in the fall, I posted this picture that I snapped while I was in one of the bedrooms on a Charlotte home tour. I loved this wall because it so stylishly solved the "what do I hang above the bed?" dilemma. I shared it on the blog and saved it in my "ideas for someday" folder.
Jenny from Evolution of Style, on the other hand, saw the photo and went to work replicating this beautiful panelled headboard for her daughter's room:
She completed the affordable project using MDF board, a nail gun, a level and a few other items most of us have around the house. You can read her step-by-step tutorial here.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh -- we have that EXACT same issue in our master bedroom. Our king-size bed is the same width as the space between the two windows. A headboard has always felt like it would be so cumbersome. This "built-in" solution seems like a much better solution!!
ReplyDeleteI love this treatment... it's amazing how much paneling can add to a space! I love how custom it makes a room feel. I did a similar paneled treatment in my dining area but filled in with mirror... check it out!

ReplyDeleteI love fool the eye stuff. It's amazing what can be done with a bit of mdf molding and a nail gun. We had this cramped bathroom with a tiny window in it that always made me claustrophobic.

ReplyDeleteHi Emily, Jenny did a great job stealing your inspiration pic and making it her own. I had a question for you about blogger. I noticed the other day your post came up in the sidebar with your signature instead of the lead picture. My blog is posting that way too, but now yours seems to have fixed it self with this latest post. Were you aware of this issue with blogger and did you do something to fix it, or was it resolved on its own. I have noticed it is happening with other blogs too.
ReplyDeleteI saw something like this done on the Nate Burkus show. It was the whole wall behind the bed, all done with mdf board. It looked awesome.
