Back in the fall, I posted this picture that I snapped while I was in one of the bedrooms on a Charlotte home tour. I loved this wall because it so stylishly solved the "what do I hang above the bed?" dilemma. I shared it on the blog and saved it in my "ideas for someday" folder.
Jenny from Evolution of Style, on the other hand, saw the photo and went to work replicating this beautiful panelled headboard for her daughter's room:
She completed the affordable project using MDF board, a nail gun, a level and a few other items most of us have around the house. You can read her step-by-step tutorial here.
Thanks to Jenny for sharing her daughter's room. If you have a project that was inspired by something you saw on my blog, I would love to see!

That turned out so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe finished product is delightful and how easy would that be?! Love it - she did a great job! I'm inspired by BOTH rooms now. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat wall looks amazing! It's the perfect "headboard" for that spot.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! The colors are so fresh too. A+ in my book :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, she did a great job!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely. Great use of space!
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! I love how soft and sweet it is!
Thank you for sharing the details too. It's helpful!
Have a Blessed Day!

Wonderful! Nothing is as satisfying as a fine finished DIY project!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!
RACKING MY BRAIN TO FIGURE OUT WHICH ROOM WILL GET THIS TREATMENT. MAYBE MINE? THANKS FOR SHARING!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh -- we have that EXACT same issue in our master bedroom. Our king-size bed is the same width as the space between the two windows. A headboard has always felt like it would be so cumbersome. This "built-in" solution seems like a much better solution!!
ReplyDeleteI love this treatment... it's amazing how much paneling can add to a space! I love how custom it makes a room feel. I did a similar paneled treatment in my dining area but filled in with mirror... check it out!

I missed the first go round--but I love this. So simple--but looks beautiful. She did a great job!
ReplyDeleteLoving these paneled headboards! Soo pretty & so simple!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful!! I love it in BOTH rooms! It was nice to see how easy it was! I'm filing it away with my list of ideas also!

ReplyDeleteI love fool the eye stuff. It's amazing what can be done with a bit of mdf molding and a nail gun. We had this cramped bathroom with a tiny window in it that always made me claustrophobic.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I've got a
lake view!
I am in love! That looks amazing. Wish I had a room in my house that needed a headboard! Great job!!
ReplyDeletelove it!!! it fits perfectly. xoxo jcd
ReplyDeletebeautiful! great use of space and design!
ReplyDeleteHi Emily, Jenny did a great job stealing your inspiration pic and making it her own. I had a question for you about blogger. I noticed the other day your post came up in the sidebar with your signature instead of the lead picture. My blog is posting that way too, but now yours seems to have fixed it self with this latest post. Were you aware of this issue with blogger and did you do something to fix it, or was it resolved on its own. I have noticed it is happening with other blogs too.
ReplyDeleteI saw something like this done on the Nate Burkus show. It was the whole wall behind the bed, all done with mdf board. It looked awesome.
ReplyDeleteI would never think that was a "simple" project! Love it. Thanks for sharing. AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE that first room. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat is stunning! I just might need to do it in my girls room where there is a big window in between their beds and the space is too small for headboards. This is a perfect solution! Just another project to add to the list!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!! So cute in that little girls room.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - great idea!! wow
ReplyDeleteLove both of those looks, and the wreath is the perfect touch!
ReplyDeletePerfect solution to match the edges of each window!!! Looks great!!KS
ReplyDeleteThat turned out so neat! I just finished the wall behind my bed, too. Although, I went with a stencil pattern. You can see it here:

That is incredibly gorgeous. I wish I were her daughter!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet and simple! Im absolutely smitten with the *height*! So great!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate seeing different ideas for headboards, and the addition of the wreath is lovely too!

ReplyDeleteYou inspire me all the time Emily! I think every inspiration file I have for each room of my house has a picture from your blog in it. You were definetly the inspiration for my entry table - from your black hall table with the mirrors above it - here is my spin on it:
