Braxton's Vintage-Inspired Nursery

My husband's cousin recently had a baby boy, and when I saw pictures of the vintage-inspired nursery, I had to share.  I love the fun, happy mix of art in this wall gallery:

And, one of my favorite ideas. . . She used pom-pom trim and tiny clothes pins to display these alphabet cards.  It's colorful and easy to change later as the baby grows.  (This would also be a fun way to display his artwork later on. . . )

And, of course, I had to include a shot of sweet baby Braxton . . .

I also like this idea for kids' rooms. . . She installed shelving around the top of the room, near the ceiling--great for displaying the cute things you may not necessarily want little hands to reach.

The photographs, by the way, were taken by her brother Billy (also my husband's cousin--are you following?).  He is an extremely talented photographer in the Louisville, Kentucky, area.  You can check out more of his work here.

Speaking of babies, I'm becoming an aunt again today!  Patiently waiting on word from my sister, who's at the hospital now :)

  1. The pom pom trim idea is SUPER! Do you think that is too babyish for a 'big boy' room? He's only 2...but love the alphabet cards since he's way into letters right now.

FUN ideas, so helpful in my final stretch.

  16. So cute! I love how she used the pom pom trim to hang the alphabet cards from. I made something like this for my son's room, but he's older so I use it to hang his art work from, like you said. Of course baby Braxton is super cute too and congrats on your newest niece or nephew!

  17. This is one of the sweetest, most original nurseries I've seen. I love the vintage inspiration and that is definitely a room that a child can grow up in.

  26. So cute! We did a white shelf, almost like crown molding, about a foot below the ceiling that wraps all the way around my son's room. It has been great for displaying stuff and fun to change out as he grows.

I lve the alphabet cards and the way she did several rows on top of each other gives it a lot of impact!

  30. Loving it. Makes me wish we were doing a full blown nursery for our little one due in a few weeks. Alas, being the fifth child, whoever this little one is just gets a corner with a crib, not the whole nine-yards! LOVE the alphabet cards...any ideas on where she snagged those? Little Braxton is ADORABLE!
