A Tour of My New Blog & Some Other Updates

I've had my new blog design up for about a week now, and I really love it.  I almost feel like I've moved into a new home.  That being said, I thought I would give you a little tour of the new site and let you know what's going on around here. . .

First things first--a big thanks to Keely of Luxe + Lillies for creating the new look.  She was easy to work with and answered all 187 of my silly, technically-impaired questions.  She also did lots of tweaking until it felt just right to me.

I decided to stick with the green and gray color scheme.  Guess how I came up with this idea?

I've also tried to make it easier to keep in touch with me.  Now, you can easily follow on Twitter, Facebook or Google Friend Connect.  And, I now officially have my own button (if you're interested, you can grab the html code on the side).

You may have noticed I've added some new tabs across the top, including a "Shop" link.  My plan is to offer some of the great finds I come across from time to time.  There will be items that I've found but haven't been able to use in my home or for a client project and great deals I just couldn't pass up.  Basically, I'll be offering pieces I like.  I hope to have some new items listed next week.

I've also enlisted a little help from a friend.  Things have gotten busier around here than I expected, and it's become too much for a one-woman show.  So, for now, my friend Katie is helping me out with email inquiries and just general "stuff" that needs to be done so that I can focus on doing what I love--designing and blogging.

You may recognize her from our trip to NYC or from some of my projects. Whether it's sanding or answering emails, she's thankfully always been there to lend a hand.

She loves when I post this picture :)

Speaking of Katie, she'll be helping me out with advertising for the blog.  If you're interested in becoming a sponsor (and reaching over 80,000 visitors per month), email us here.

And, finally, I feel extemely blessed that I've had so much interest in my online decorating services.  I never thought it would become such a big part of my design business, but I'm having a great time doing it and love helping clients both near and far.  For now, I'm booked through May and plan on taking some time off this summer.  But, if you're interested in my online services, please email and we'll contact you if appointments open up or when I'm scheduling new projects.

If you're in or near the Charlotte area, I'm still taking local clients this spring.  You can find more info here.

And, last but not least, I promise I'll have an official "house tour" on the blog soon (at least the rooms I'll let you see!) and some updated portfolio pictures.  Thanks to you all for your continued support of my blog.  I continue to be amazed that you read my random thoughts each day :)

  5. Oh yeah, I found my fabric for my kitchen "SHORT" window treatments. You won't believe that it's actually a table cloth! I purchased to table cloths from Target (their dwell line) for $9.98 each!

  6. Love the new design. I'm a fan/follower/lurker who hasn't commented before - but I do have a question about your designer. I'm looking for someone to redo my parents' blog for their home decor shop and when I clicked on the link you provided all I got was the logo that didn't allow for click throughs (so no info on their services). Do you have a contact link for them?

Looking forward to the house tour!
