Sunroom Inspiration for an Online Client

After all of the snow we've had along the east coast over the last several days, I thought some bright sunroom inspiration might be in order.

I recently had the chance to work on an idea board for Olga.  She's actually one of my blog sponsors and owner of the beautiful pillow shop, Elegant Touch, on Etsy.  It was a great project to work on since she already had access to lots of wonderful fabrics.

Her sunroom had some great things going--like the beautiful striped walls--but needed a pick-me-up in the way of accessories and some colorful fabrics.

She started by making some curtain panels in this beautiful fabric from Thomas Paul's line for Duralee:

Using those colors as a starting off point, this is the accessory idea board I created for her space:

I suggested she start with a large area rug to warm up the room.  We also used some of the pillows from her shop (found here and here) and a bright John James Audubon bird print.

TV walls can be tricky areas to decorate.  In this case, I suggested accessories that would add some height.

The plan: to hang large framed or canvas black and white prints on the wall above and to add taller accessories on the tops of the bookcases similar to this:

That's the plan. Now, we just need some sun to melt away the snow.

I love the fabric for the window treatments. What a difference it will make in the room.
And the accessories will make the room look finished.

  15. LeAnne - those bookcases look like IKEA Expedit to me :)

Emily, I love how you have such an eye for pattern and do such an awesome job putting bold patterns together. I wish I had that talent.

Where did the cage thingie on top of the bookcases come from? I need it!

  16. This idea board just brought some sunshine to my day. I live in Minnesota, and its been an unusually snowy and gray winter here.....needing a little pick-me-up and some optimism that spring and sunshine will come. Thank you for that!
