A Present From PVE Designs

I had to take a moment to officially thank Patricia, the talent behind PVE Designs, for a beautiful illustration she did of my parents' house.  I had sent her a picture of it just to inquire about her services, and she surprised me with a beautiful gift that I was able to give to my mom and dad for Christmas.

I gave her this photograph. . . .

And, she created this wonderful piece of art for their home:

I'm amazed at her attention to every last detail.  And, best of all, my parents loved it, and thought I had gone all out on their gift this year! :)

You've probably seen Patricia's work floating around the blog world.  You can see more of her beautiful portfolio on her website and find her blog here.

This gift was great timing since my parents have put alot of time into updating their home in the last year or so.  While I was growing up there, the garage was actually the stone part (now the family room) that you see in the middle.  The new garage and upstairs attic were additions after I left for college.

They only recently added stone to the middle part of the house and to the chimney.  I really like the mix of stone and siding.  I make all of my friends and family members swear to document any home improvement projects for "the blog", and my dad complied:

  2. Too cute! You're parents house reminds me of the house in Father of the Bride (I think it's that picket fence on the left). Very special gift. M.

  9. That is such an amazing gift. The house is stunning. My parents have a hallway in their home with paintings done of each of the houses they have had {three}. It's so special to have that. Your parents will treasure it.
