I recovered these dining chairs back in the spring, and although I love the fabric, it's just not jiving with the rest of the room. I recovered them before I had any other plans for the space--which is exactly why an overall plan before you start is generally a good idea. . . .
After staring at the space and scratching my head for the last several months, I've decided to change the chair fabric to something a little darker and more sophisticated. (I'm leaving the fabric on the bench/ottoman as is.) I've long loved this fabric and don't know why I never thought of using it in the dining room before now:
It's on an ebony background and has just a hint of green in the pattern.
On a side note, I'm sorry to report that Fancy Nancy died in our dining room floor over the weekend.
My other plans for the room include framing more botanicals from this book. More frames for bigger impact, right?
So, hopefully, before the year is done, I'll have a completed dining room to share with you. Please tell me I'm not the only one who makes over their makeover in progress.
