I have to admit the word "stencil" has long given me the chills--until recently. I think my mind always flashed back to the days of my childhood when it was cool to stencil apples, ivy leaves or some other country motif on your wall (usually in the form of a border. . . ). You know what I'm talking about, right? (And, for those of you who still have those apples stenciled on your walls, I'm sorry and I have a solution.)
I've seen alot of really cool projects on design blogs lately where stencils have been used to create some beautiful rooms, without the high cost of designer wallpaper. It's really a low cost solution for high-end style. I was recently introduced to the company
Cutting Edge Stencils. They offer some amazing designs that replicate the look of expensive wallcoverings:
Their site also has helpful links to tutorials for those of us who have never tried to stencil anything. . . .
Thinking this would make a great project for the coming new year?
Cutting Edge Stencils is giving one lucky reader the chance to
win a stencil of your choice (up to a $40 value).
To enter the giveaway, visit Cutting Edge Stencils and leave a comment on this post with your favorite stencil from their site.
For an additional entry, "like" Cutting Edge Stencils on their Facebook page, and leave another comment letting me know.
The winner will be drawn at random this Thursday, Dec. 9th. Good luck!
