I picked up several of these metal word ornaments at an after-Christmas sale last year and decided to remove the hangers and spray them white so they would show up better on the shelves.
Our tree has been up for over a week and is still not decorated. I think I'll just leave it up to the kids. . . .

how clever! Looks great, too! happy holiday!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea. They look wonderful sprayed white.
ReplyDeleteI love the word ornaments, but I'm just as fascinated by the titles of your books-- I have many of the same ones!
ReplyDeleteLovely vignette :)
Love the way you display your bookshelves.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holiday!
Very cute, I want to find something similar for our bookshelves!
ReplyDeleteI love the words, and everything else about the way you've accessoried them!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I love how you hung a wreath on the bookcase!
ReplyDeletePerfect! They look so charming and classic on your shelf. :-) Merry Christmas!

Very nice emily! I'm moving slow with my decorating too! I'm showing my tree tomorrow so maybe that will put me in gear to finish the rest of the house.
ReplyDeletePainting the words was a great idea and I love how it adds just enough of the season to the bookcases. I am definitely taking a low key approach to decor this season...enough to make us (kids!) happy without creating too much work for me!

Looks great. I'm putting it all off until next weekend :-)
ReplyDeleteAwe... I love all the words :)
ReplyDeleteEmily I am a lover of words and letters and this is a great idea, in fact I am saving this for my next year file. Now my mind is spinning again. I have so many thoughts in my brain this time of year, I just love it!!! It is Only the 7th of Dec. you are not late, there is no rush or race, do it when you can enjoy it!!! That is what all this decorating is about, enjoyment. It is one of the gifts we decorating types get to experience!! Enjoy the Process sweet Emily, Merry Christmas to YOU and YOURS

Ha! Our tree has been up for four days and has not been decorated, either! Maybe we'll get them done by Christmas?? ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, at least the bookcase is decorated!!
ReplyDeleteI love the after Christmas deals. What a lovely way to add a touch of Christmas to your bookshelves.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I love the wreath on the shelf as well, looks beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to spray those. I love the wreath on the outside of the bookcase {you children's photos are sooooo cute}. And less is always more . . even on a tree! :)
ReplyDeleteOnly you would think of spray painting something that is a classic silver, white, AND make it look better! I never would have thought to do that, but I love it.
ReplyDeleteLooking good, I like the wreath hanging in front of the bookcase!
ReplyDeleteLove them! The "wish" and "dream" are so cute for Christmas! (c:

I absolutely love the white words..!
ReplyDeleteHappy decorating. = ) My tree was decorated, and then undecorated by the cat & kiddo. Haha!
Lovely -- I love the white against your bookcases!
ReplyDeleteThe white words do stand out now. I like how you hung the wreath there too. It seems like holiday decor is slow going around here too. I think the tree, 2 door wreaths and little touches here and there will suffice:)
ReplyDeleteThey look beautiful - I love that you used them on the shelves.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Love how subtle yet gorgeous your decorations are. My decorating is happening at a snail's pace as well!
ReplyDeletelooks great! i'm slow with decorating too...
ReplyDeleteLOVE the merry & bright! Very cool.
