Elf on your shelf...never heard of it! Similar to booing? Janell
We love our little elf "Buddy." He made his appearance the weekend before Thanksgiving. Our kids needed to see him a little early this year. He's been visiting our family for three years now. It's a great tradition.BTW: If anyone is interested, I just got an e-mail from Barnes & Noble their homepage has an Elf on the Shelf 30% off coupon.
I'd never heard of the Elf, but what a cute idea! Congrats to the winner!
The Elf at my Sister's house showed up last night... She tried to wait until December, but the kids needed him to come!!!Best of Luck!
I had never heard of the elf until reading about it on a blog over the summer. and I am a little bit over the top about Christmas. Do you think it's a regional thing?
Thanks for the reminder to get the little guy out. Ours is named Malphie as in Ralph Malph from Happy Days? Yeah..still not sure how we got that name
i am thinking of doing elf on the shelf next year!
we have one but my daughter hasn't really gotten into him yet. What age do they really start to enjoy him? She is 4 1/2 so I am hoping this year she will "get him".thecoolkidsblog.com
Yes... our Elf is in the dining room at the moment. Kids love it!Found it at an estate sale... so he has been around! Cute little pointy ears and all.xo,cristin
Oh the elf has arrived here . . but my four year old keeps saying, "Mom, it's just a pretend elf. It isn't real." Any suggestions ;)
Yep, "Elvin" came out on Thanksgiving. This is our first year with the elf and so far, so good!
So cute! I found out about Elf on a Shelf a couple weeks ago and have my little buddy on order right now. I just posted my new favourite Christmas find...sparkly reindeer head!
I've never heard of it. How does it work?
Not sure of what Elf on a Shelf is but our elves visit Christmas Eve and leave Christmas PJ's on all of our beds while we are at church! They're sneaky!
I've never even heard of the elf on a shelf thing but I have some of those little fellas. I haven't put them out the past few years and now I'm all charged up to get them out!
I found a vintage elf at the thrift store last year and he's already in the sitting position. Im thinking its meant to be elf on the shelf...or at least thats what Im calling him. I just put him on our Cmas tree. My hubby thinks hes freaky looking though:)
We had one of these elves when I was a kid (that we put out every year) but I never knew the story until a few years ago. I'll have to ask my mom to find that little guy so I can start the tradition with my daughter :)
Instead of the elf, I use the wisemen in my preschool class. They move every day on their journey to the baby Jesus and the kids love trying to find them everyday. He's a cute little guy though ;-).
No offense to all the elf lovers, but we don't do the little elf on the shelf. I just don't agree with the concept. I know it's supposed to be fun, but it's just dishonest enough that it comes across as lying to my kids. Just can't get on board...
My kids love our elf! I live in Marietta, Ga where the author/creator and her mom live. Several years ago, they came to our preschool holiday market and sold the elves and story books. The book is based on a story the author was told as a child about a very special elf who returns every year to watch over children and report back to Santa each night while they sleep. She signed every book that she sold! It is crazy to see how big it has become over the years. It seems like the elf is everywhere this time of year!
Our elf, Murphy, is back!!! We so enjoy his visits, the kids appear to be a little more well behaved!
Our Elf show's up tomorrow. Since my kiddies are between 10 and 15, we had to change it up a bit last year. We use him as a countdown to Christmas. When the kiddies find him each day, a little present is with him and a tag saying how many days until Christmas.
Our elf is "Elfred" b/c he's an elf and he's red. PS. Thanks for the remind to get him out!
OMG - that is TOO cute!! I've never heard of it - but now I want one!! Nice to meet you Emily! Spotted you today over at Rashon's Mr. Goodwill Hunting's - 30 Days of Thrifting series!:D Lynda
I had just heard about the Elf a couple months ago. So I ordered one and we started it Sunday after Thanksgiving. My 4 year old loves finding him every morning, and he gets mad if he forgets to move sometimes. (whoopps)
How did I miss this?!So cute... our elf, "Yadi", named after the St. Louis Cardinals' catcher, is here in full-swing. He even left our boys a plush Elf on the Shelf for them to sleep with, and they LOVE them!! It's a magical time, isn't it?Merry Christmas, and thank you for your continued posts during this busy season... I love hearing from you!
