And, speaking of Goodwill, I went on a tour of our local regional offices earlier in the week. Did you know that placing people in jobs in their retail stores is only a small part of what they do? Goodwill also offers extensive job skills training and placement programs. Even more reason to finally de-clutter your space and donate.

Love my Goodwill, they help me keep a pretty clutter free home! Always have a bag set in the garage that I add things to when we no longer need them, still nice items of clothing the kids have grown out of, etc., and then easy to just pick it up when full and drop it off at their donation center.
ReplyDeleteAnd...great idea to update a mirror! Janell
I've been wanting to make over a mirror like that too. We have a few Goodwills near us. I'm always dropping off, but rarely picking up. I think I need to browse more often.
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are the Goodwill Queen!! I went to my local GW the other day because I thought, "Emily always finds great things there"...needless to say, there wasn't much there to inspire me and I left empty handed :(
ReplyDeleteEmily, Is this a dumb question? do you paint the mirror itself? Will it take the chalkboard paint??
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to find and rehab one of these for months! I'll have to look at our Goodwill and SA stores to see if they have any. I love the look!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Love to shop our GW's, always find such wonderful things. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm a lover of Goodwill! And I have a mirror in the garage thats waiting on some chalkboard paint!
ReplyDeleteLove the mirror to chalkboard. And I love how Goodwill makes it so easy with all of their drop off spots. Even my children are putting things in the Goodwill box. Maybe I can train them to find potential decorator items with me :)
ReplyDeleteHooray for the Goodwill, a great source for stuff awaiting makeovers! Your mirror turned chalkboard is fabulous!

love it! You have inspired me to go to goodwill on a regular basis!
ReplyDeleteOur Goodwill doesn't have much furniture, so I usually haunt my local Salvation Army. That's where I found my McGuire rattan tables for $19 for the pair!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Love the shape of the frame.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of a large chalkboard in an interesting frame but I'm worried about chalk dust. Does it make a huge mess? I have visions of banging erasers in elementary school and getting choked by the dust.
ReplyDeleteLove a GOOD Goodwill find.

I can honestly say I never would have seen that mirror and thought it had that kind of potential! What a fun makeover.
