She already had some beautiful pillows that she has purchased from Plum Cushion, but the room still felt like it needed a bold punch of pattern. So, this is what I suggested:
I thought a strong blue would work really well in the room, and loved this fabric from Calico Corners. I also suggested she paint the frames a glossy white. For more color, I recommended a fun, green geometric pillow from Etsy seller Purple Pajamas. The result:
I love the way these fabrics give the room a little "facelift." Here's the room before:
And, after adding more pattern (and the "new" chairs):

ReplyDeleteDear Emily,
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the chair makeover! For those who love this fabric from the Calico Corners - Calico Home stores, it's LISBON LINEN in color INDIGO--and it's only $21.99 per yard. It's a lot of look for the money!
This fabric is in all the Calico stores across the country--and also online at www.calicocorners.com.
Just type the fabric name in the search box at top right. Lisbon Linen also comes in a muted green color called Olive. Both are shown online. Can't wait to see what you'll do next, Emily--happy decorating!
Oh, my! Those chairs with that exact fabric do so much for the room! Neat to see!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteLooks gorgeous...love how you tied it all together and the fabric is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI have 4 of the almost exact same chair, but they have caning all around the sides, including the back. I am going to have them all reupholstered, but cannot decide whether to take out the back caning or keep it and just use a small pillow to show it. What do you all think? Hope I explained myself well!
Thanks,
Danielle
