And, after some serious thought, shopping and re-arranging:
I love that she thought to put a pretty piece of furniture in front of the radiator. And, the headboard now gives the room a much needed focal point.
So, what can you accomplish in a day? A lot. Focusing on one room for a single day may be the perfect solution if you've come to a point where you feel like you're stuck or simply un-inspired.
Here are some examples of what I can help you with:
~Creating a focal point in the room
~Choosing paint colors
~Re-arranging furniture

Absolutely beautiful transformation...not to put a wrench in it or anything, but I'm wondering how many days were spent sourcing and getting materials and items ready for the One Day transformation. Just to be real!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was so much fun to talk to you yesterday! Enjoy your 4th! Janell
OH!! One Day (with planning)...glad they made that distinction!! People otherwise get the wrong impression that design can happen quickly with very little thought!

You've read my mind. Saw this the other day and loved it! It definitely was my favorite - I wish I just had a day to focus on one thing. I agree w/Janell...it would take me forever to find all the sources to get a room looking like this!
ReplyDeleteI just received by HB in the mail yesterday and loved how this room turned out. Like Janell, I doubted the 9 hour time line. It seem like they implied that some planning went into the process. Regardless, it was interesting to read the designer's thought process, including her edits.
ReplyDeleteWow! Shows how a few small changes can totally transform the look and feel of a room. Dying over that headboard!
ReplyDeletei loved this feature in the mag--beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love that you featured this room. It was definitely my favorite feature from HB this month. Love what you can do in a day (or two or three maybe, in the real world, given time for painting, shopping, etc). It looks gorgeous and shows how that transformation is attainable!
ReplyDeleteI love doing a quick transformation! This was my favorite part of this month's magazine as well!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you were in Charlotte! I really enjoy your blog, and who knew a fellow Charlottean!
Happy 4th!!
I would never have thought to use outdoor lantern sconces flanking the windows like that. I love it!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness...that's fabulous! Love it! It's amazing what you can do in a day.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous room. It looks so fresh and inviting. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteI love the fact that this is done in a day! What an inspirational transformation.
