However, after going through some of my inspiration photos, I kept coming back to this one:
It's Ryan Brown's house (from Bravo's Flipping Out) and was featured in the LA Times. I did an earlier post about his home here.
A few reasons I chose this room:
~A neutral color palette with strong black accents and subtle pops of color
~A beautiful gallery wall (love those architectural prints)
~Great layering of patterns (and how I would love to have imperial trellis curtains--still!)
~A pair of matching chairs
~That light fixture! What a stunning centerpiece for the room.
~Open floor plan with a step up to the next room
And, last but not least. . . .
~A big, potted orchid (the perfect finishing touch!)
The only problem I see: having to tell that kid 84 times/day not to touch that fruit or those books on my perfectly styled coffee table :)

ReplyDeleteOh Emily, I can see why you like it!
ReplyDeleteI love your choice! It's so cozy. I have to think about this one because my styles go from one end of the spectrum to the next. So difficult to pick just one!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular! I do love that light fixture too! I wonder if Ryan will be back on Flipping Out since the big breakup?

Love his house! I wish Ryan would come back to TV soon--used to enjoy watching him on Flipping Out.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, my jaw dropped when his home was shown on the show, I tried to get my TV into slow mode so I could take in each and every detail! I saw this challenge and really don't know if I could post just one picture...

Hmmm...I don't know if I could do it - pick one picture that perfectly describes my style. Sometimes I feel really schizo about what I find to be the "perfect" design.
ReplyDeleteDO love the room you picked - a strong, elegant approach!
