My bedroom was featured on Houzz this weekend as part of the "Put a Monogram On It" feature. You can check out the full article here.
While we're on the subject, here's some other more non-traditional monograms I like:
A pillow for a client's little girl's room that we had embroidered here.
Love the unexpected orange embroidery. (Leontine Linens)
Great examples of a more masculine take on monograms:

I saw your room on Houzz! Fun!! I love the chair with the "A" on the pillow, not usually a fan of monograms, but I really like the graphic look of this example. Perhaps I need to rethink my opinion! :)

I love Houzz and I was so excited to see your bedroom there! I love a good monogram but I'm always afraid they look too preppy in my home. You've found some great alternatives to the traditional, overly preppy monogram... Thanks!!

I am a big fan of monongrams, In fact they are one of my favorite design elements. All my towels are monogrammed. It just as a sharpness to an everday item. Love your images and your master bdrm is wonderful, Happy Monday,Kathysue
ReplyDeleteI love a good monogram--always have. I like a bunch of the examples, but the G's on the bed might be my favorite. All 3 initials can be tricky, since sometimes they have other meanings, like the orange MBA pillows (I do love the orange though!). When my parents (Eileen and Tim Ahern) got married, my aunt and uncle ordered them monogrammed towels. My aunt made sure to stress that they had to be written (untraditionally) with my dad's initial first, or else they would would say "EAT." Unfortunately, that note got lost somewhere along the line though... :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bedroom, love your bird prints! I will have to go and check out more. Love monogram pillows!
ReplyDeleteI'm having my 1st ever giveaway, love for you to stop by!
Your bedroom looks fantastic, especially those monogram pillows. I can't thank you enough for sharing that Badgley-Mischka bedroom photo too. I had to go look up the rest of the article because it so clearly reflected the style I've been trying to create.

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your bed. Where did it come from? I have been on the hunt for a new bed for a while now, and this this very well may be the one. Please advise!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your bedroom being featured on Houzz. Fun! Such a pretty space you have. I adore Monograms and can't wait to add more to our home.
ReplyDeleteThat mirror above your bed just slays me - spectacular! My husband absolutely hates monograms. Something about self-promotion? I think he's nuts and that in moderation (like the pretty pillows you showed) they're a great personal touch.
ReplyDeleteCongrast on the feature! I want a J Jonathan Adler pillow :)
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is adorable! I sent the image of the black and white different initials to my friend (she lives with her bf and wants monogram pillows but they dont have the same initials... yet!)

I have to say, I've rarely met a monogram I didn't like!
ReplyDeleteEmily, I had to laugh when I read your comment on my blog post about the daybed in a living area. I thought to myself, don't they try hurdling over the sofa. I know mine did until i put a stop to that but I am sure when I was not here God only knows what they did. What I don't know won't hurt me, right!!?? Thank you for your visit it was fun to see your name on my blog post, I really appreciate the time you took to comment, Kathysue
