I thought I would stray away from the typical pink princess theme by using bright, spring colors. We found the big butterflies at Ross and detached them from garden stakes to hang them from the chandelier. I also used a $4 vinyl table cloth to serve as the colorful base for our table (and vinyl is ideal for 4-year-old princesses!).
To brighten things up, I filled glass cylinders from the dollar store with candies in primary colors and added fresh flowers in old teapots sprayed to match the table:
Place cards seemed a little too formal for this affair, so I used these big foam letters from Michaels. Our "tea cups" and saucers are actually the espresso cups from IKEA.
A happy princess = mission accomplished:
(Don't all true ladies have tea with their purses on their arms?)

Your little princess is quite the beauty! My daughter also chose a princess tea party for her 4th birthday. It must be the age. I found tiny tea sets at a discount store that we gave each give as a party favor. They were a real hit.
