To sum up my weekend. . .
The powder room went yellow. . . .
Benjamin Moore "Marblehead Gold" to be exact. Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Good accessories will surely make all the difference. And, a couple of you left comments saying that gold would be very "Kate Spade." So, I keep telling myself that.
Afterall, who wouldn't want a room that feels like this:
In other weekend activities, the Kentucky Wildcats lost and aren't going to the Final Four--which made a certain 5-year-old boy in my house very sad.
And for the big finale, a tornado came through our small town last night and our swing set bit the dust. This picture was taken after my husband moved it off our neighbor's fence. . .
And, that pretty much sums it up.

oooh sounds like you had a great weekend. love the new yellow! so pretty
ReplyDelete:) xoxo
Blogger must be having some problems. I'm not able to see all of your pictures. I do like the yellow that you chose for the bathroom. I can't see the kate spade photo. Oh and a tornado? Wow... I'm glad you guys are doing a lot better than the playset!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Yellow is such a hard color, I once painted a kitchen three shades of yellow before giving up and going to green. But when done right yellow is a fabulous choice. The glimpse of the mirror is very intriguing, show us more! Janell
ReplyDeletei can't wait to see the rest of the powder room! and i'm sorry to hear about your swingset :(
ReplyDeletei love that yellow! you picked such a great color. i just posted about yellow paint colors today (via real simple) you should check out their april issue, lots of inspiring yellows for decorating!

ReplyDeleteAwww... poor little guy - not only do the Wildcats lose, but his swingset is toppled over and broken??? Hopefully, next weekend will be better for him.
ReplyDeleteAs for the gold, I'd live with a while and see what you think. You can always repaint if you don't like it.
pretty buttery yellow! glad you all are okay.
ReplyDeleteVERY curious where you'll go with this. Our dining room has a gold wall and I am NOT SURE about it and I am hoping your color choice might help us...
ReplyDeleteoh I like the yellow- or gold as the name says. Post finished pics soon!
ReplyDeleteFrom the little sneak peak... the yellow looks awesome! That mirror pops beautifully against it. I never thought of using gold with yellow, but your Kate Spade inspiration picture has me sold, and with that striped fabric.. so chic!
ReplyDeleteI think the yellow is going to be beautiful -- can't wait to see how it all comes together. I'm so sorry to hear about the tornado though...seems like whenever one project around the house gets done, another one seems to create itself!
ReplyDeleteThe paint looks great, a real buttery gold. I'll be interested in seeing the final pictures of your work. Poor little guy to have the Wildcats lose and to have his playset topple over - I hope his week is much better!
