Seriously. They are most likely disguised by a coat of dust and sometimes a sad shade of country blue:
I found this one for the attractive price of $3 and thought the short round shape would make a great little desk lamp.
After sponge brushing on a couple of coats of the green I used to paint this, and adding a $7 shade I found at a consignment store:
I decided to leave the lamp base brass. . . .You can see my paint job was not perfection, but I can live with it.

love the green!

ReplyDeleteMy goodwill is filled with lamps like that one! I might just have to pick up one next time I'm there. Your lamp has me inspired, I love it!
ReplyDeletePerfectly done!
ReplyDeleteFound you through Isabella & Max blog. Wow! You have exquisite taste. I particularly L.O.V.E. THE LAMP! I love to refinish furniture! Glad I found you! I am now an avid follower!
ReplyDeleteit's perfect! I love good deals!
ReplyDeleteI see this type of lamp all the time at thrift stores. I think they usually do get bypassed like you said because of their color or outdated finish. I love the green lamp paired with the black shade.
ReplyDeleteI recently found an all glass Ginger jar lamp and gave it a makeover. I love rescuing old ugly lamps and making them pretty again!
