Green with Envy

My sister recently asked for help with redecorating her living room. Although we haven't gotten very far in the process, I couldn't wait to share this dresser-turned-TV console makeover with you. I found this piece on her local Craigslist in Nashville and knew all of the carved detail made this one a keeper.

And, after a couple of coats of Vine Green by Benjamin Moore, it's now a bright, modern focal point for the room.

I'm convinced bright colors are the easiest way to revive a piece that's day has passed.  And, on this piece, I love how you now see the detailing around the pulls in the middle.

Want to see another great makeover? Check out this painted credenza that Averill featured on her blog Odi et Amo earlier this week.

How many coats did you use? And how did you sand it down, power sander?

  4. 1FunkyWoman: She sanded only the top and then primed the whole thing. She used 3 coats of the green.
