Weekend Projects

Want to find the very best bargains in home decor? It requires getting up at the crack of dawn on Saturday mornings and sometimes using your imagination, but it can often be worth your time and effort. Here are part of my yard sale finds from the weekend:

Do you see a trend here? I don't think you can go wrong with glass, and I got the whole lot for $8. Sure, I don't know where any of this is going just yet, but figuring it out is half the fun.

I also made myself work on the few projects I have left to complete for my daughter's room. One of these projects was painting this mirror hot pink. I found it at a hotel surplus warehouse a few months ago for $20, and it's huge. When I say I'm the queen of decorating on a budget, I'm not kidding!

I also bought this chair off of Craigslist (where else?) a while back and decided to spray it a glossy black and recover the cushion for her room.

Just a few finishing touches and pictures of the final product will be posted soon. . . .

  2. I'm spending a lovely Friday night watching "Mary Poppins" with my kids are tooling back through your archives. You and I have very similar taste, evidently. Just bought the same glass lamp and a thrift store here in W-S! :) Enjoying seeing the process of your daughter's room!
